As a member of the Idaho Retailers Association (IRA), you can also join the Idaho Retail Pharmacy Council (IRPC) for a small additional investment. Although you will receive general pharmacy information through your membership with the IRA, members of the IRPC have a separate steering committee and receive detailed information on ALL issues that impact retail pharmacy in Idaho.
The IRPC was created in 2007 so that there would be one, consolidated voice for retail pharmacy in Idaho. Both the Idaho State Pharmacy Association and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores participate in the IRPC, along with numerous individual independent and chain pharmacies. However, it’s important that EVERY retail pharmacy in Idaho joins to protect and strengthen retail pharmacy in Idaho.
Issues the IRPC is currently working on include PBM transparency, pharmacy audit integrity, and prohibiting mandatory mail order – along with a handful of other ancillary pharmacy issues that are already starting to surface. We will also be continuing our efforts and partnership with Medicaid to identify and move forward with cost-saving measures, along with continuing our education efforts with the Governor and Legislature about pushing state policies that support pharmacies in Idaho.
